Martin Murray R.I.P. aged 97. Martin came to London in 1948 settled in Peckham South London. He was predeceased by wife Sheila a few years ago they had one son David who survives them. Martin was the last surviving member of that generation of the Murray family well known GAA, music, and farming family in Ardrahan. His funeral was held on June 15th at West Wickham Crematorium, Kent.

Martin attended Ardrahan National School and played hurling with Ardrahan. He was a member of a very successful Ardrahan juvenile team that won a South Board title in 1938. He graduated up through various teams in the early 1940’s and was an extended member of the 1948 Ardrahan County intermediate winning side. He maintained his links with Ardrahan and hurling and poignantly held onto his treasured GAA medals all his life. Ardrahan GAA sends its sincere sympathy to the extended Murray and Lynskey families.
